carnavalesca, assinala a amizade e fortalece a interação social.
naquele dia.
amizad.

It is true! In the Azores Carnival has already begun ... a week ago !!!
The Thursdays before fat Tuesday (Carnival) are celebrated in a unique way by the Azoreans, and what is thought to be an already secular tradition.
Today (01/25/2018) is Day of Friends (for women). Exactly one week ago FRIENDS (the men) celebrated their day.
Following are the Compadres day and finally Comadres day on the next two Thursdays , respectively, and it is said that formerly were in these meetings that chose or invite godfathers to the children.
These are the four consecutive Thursdays that mark a commercially dormant time of the year and the celebration of friendship always gives some excitement - at least as far as associations, clubs, restaurants, bars and other establishments of amusement are concerned night time - perhaps also a gift shop or other.
In addition to everything you can imagine, Thursdays, whose "commemoration" began a week ago, has the peculiarity of joining people who are usually away for various tasks and who on these special days get together.
Usually, larger or smaller groups of regular friends join together for dinners, which often go out on evenings in pubs and even include lively, previously agreed-upon striping sessions.
Thus, it is rare to find women to dine out on (male) Friends' Day, just as the men get more homework on Girlfriend's Day. In the smaller islands, the friends go to the private wineries already prepared to receive them, and the next week, it is the turn of the friends to choose this or that restaurant to have fun.
Perhaps because of the almost total isolation that the Azores were subjected to in previous times to telephones, television and internet, to call friends, for lunch or dinner, it started a peculiar tradition that, besides celebrating the Carnival period, it signals friendship and strengthens social interaction.
In the last decades, the celebrations have gained from year to year more and more adepts and dynamism, but always prevails a curious and unique data: the separation of the sexes.
And it is curious to see that, whether at friends 'dinner or on (girl) friends' day people, they transform as if the world were exclusive to that sex that day.
We also note that this tradition summons people every Thursday to a lunch, a dinner and then associate to these types of extra celebrations that are either more interactive or more select or out of context that anyone can dynamize in their day to day, being a historical particularity with interesting social repercussions giving special importance to the role and continuity of the friendship.
